Andres Escobar, was a Colombian national fuootbal player who had the unfortunate trail of destiny to be involved in the 1994 FIFA World Cup match in where his own goal is believed to have led to his death. Escobar was killed in Medellin, Colombia at a local nightclub while in an heated discussion with national team fans and reported cartel members. The indignity of the own goal itself would cause trauma to any true footballer but the real infamy belongs to the believed drug lords who were caused gambling losses due to the backwards goal!
